You are not alone
Homes are places filled with love. They are the foundation on which our society is built, so we say. Yet, behind closed doors, our families are being torn apart by violence. The privacy that protects the family also hides the pain, the suffering and terror of violence against the victims. Domestic violence affects us all! It’s not a shame, it’s a crime! We all have a responsibility to find our own ways of helping to build better non-violent communities.
Our message to all victims
You are not to blame for being beaten.
You are not the cause of another’s violent behavior.
You do not like it or want it.
You do not have to take it.
You are an important human being.
You deserve to be treated with respect.
You do have power over your own life.
You can use your power to take good care of yourself.
You can decide for yourself what is best for you.
You can make changes in your life if you want to.
You are not alone; you can ask for help.
